Swahili is the main language of the people. Agriculture is the main occupation followed by mining.



Sisal is the main agricultural product, which is 1/4 of the total export. Coffee and cotton, gold, diamonds are some other items of export. Zanzibar and Pemba, once having separate identity, are now the integral parts of Tanzania.
