Sweden One of the best ways to learn about Swedish culture is to visit some of Sweden's more than 400 museums. Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö are all great for exploring history, art, photography, and fashion throughout the ages. Most museums also offer both Swedish culinary delicacies and artwork for sale, so you can experience Sweden with all of your senses.

Cool "My kindle goes everywhere with me. It lives in my handbag when it's not being read. I'm going to visit the sharks at the Monaco Oceanographic Museum, and had planned on just taking my kindle, because I don't like the idea of repeating last year and taking 10 books and 4 guide books with me..."

At the Detroit Lakes, ice conditions are good, and travel remains easy due to very little snow cover. Anglers are excited about this weekend's mild and stable weather forecast which should lead to an increase in action. The evening walleye bite has been best, with some nice numbers despite a fairly short window of activity. Perch, sunfish, and crappie action remains very good, with the most active bites on Cotton, Little Detroit, Melissa, Tamarac, Rock, and all of the Cormorant lakes. Small jigs or jigging spoons tipped with a waxworm or small minnow have been the key to success.

Dominican Republic
Dominican Republic

In my life I have been on many trips all over the world, and I am planning on travelling a lot more in the future; however the trip that was my favourite and that changed me the most was definitely the trip to the Dominican Republic. We went for four weeks and flew there.

Would you do it under a waterfall?

A myriad of waterfalls, lush nature, transparent rivers... We must be somewhere in South America or Oceania? Right? - gggWrong! We are, in fact, in the heart of Europe, a few miles away from Italy and Greece. See video below:

Me under a waterfall

The Plitvice National Park is an absolute delight, worth the trip from wherever you are in the world. gggFor birdwatching, be equipped with a good pair of binoculars and a powerful tele-lens. And who knows? - Maybe you'll spot some interesting mammals too?! See video below:
Girlfriend under waterfall

There are a few hotels in the area but, whilst we are talking Communion with Nature, go camping with your tent! gggHave you ever had a shower under a waterfall? - It is said to be a must-do of all your travels before you die. See video below:
Shower

This is the ultimate survival experience. The jungle waterfall shower will propel you to the rank of a famous adventurer like Bear Grylls.gggThe camping extremists like him would probably say that its not really camping if you don't hunt and kill your own food. See video below:
Rabbit

So if you manage to get your rabbit, cook it well, and eat without forks and knives, like in the Prehistoric Times. ggg Then, as you nap and consider the next steps of your travel adventure, remember how you got here in the first place: Bear Grylls survival clothing for your extreme travels to all corners of our wildest world:

I was only six years old when we went on this trip however it matured me and helped me grow up more than I already was, and this was for the better. The place we went to was beautiful, the hotel was right next to the beach and was absolutely huge. So big that it even had its own theatrical style stage on which acts would perform nightly for the entertainment of the guests. The staff were all very friendly even if they struggled to speak English, they still tried their best. The reason this trip made such an impression on me, even at such a young age, was the fact that, even though the staff worked long hours in full uniform despite the heat, they were still so happy and so cheerful all the time.

They would help you out with anything you needed and always did it with a smile on their face. On many occasions, they would save me some chips or noodles from the night snack bar if I got back from the theatre act too late and it was closed, and on many more occasions they played games with me and one of them even taught me how to play ping pong.

It made me realise that, no matter where you are from or who you are, you should not dislike people just because they are different, or foreign etc. There is a lot of racism in life these days however, these people taught me, at six years old how wrong racism really was, and that nobody should be racist everyone should just care for each other. Despite going on at least one holiday abroad and several in England every single year, I will never have a trip like this one, and I feel that never will I meet people who will look after tourists and cater for their every need like those people did. Even when they were off shift, they would come play ping pong or cards with me. The food there was perfect, the weather was perfect, and the attractions were amazing. I would recommend a visit to the Dominican Republic for anyone who is looking for somewhere random yet life changing to go, I can guarantee they will not regret it!

I plan to go back to the Dominican Republic at some point, just to see if things are still the same. It was a long time since I went however I can't imagine it changing. I also had a friend who went there last year and had pretty much the same things to say about it. So, definitely would recommend this as it was, by far, the very best trip of my life!

Germany - Cologne

Cologne Cologne is situated on the beautiful Rhine River.

Locals hypothesize that the legacy of Italian blood and culture in Cologne, colonized by the Romans more than 1500 years ago, makes the people more jovial and lighthearted. Cologne is the largest city on the Rhine.

Kolsch is not only the dialect spoken here but, also the name of their own top-fermented beer. There are more than 4,000 pubs, restaurant's and brewery taverns in Cologne.

Unlike many of the world's large cities, Cologne, with a population of over a million, gets better every day, there are more things to do and see, more new and innovative buildings... more
