Connecticuy is a Northeastern state on the Atlantic coast opposite Long Island. It was first settled by Europeans in 1635-6 and was one of the 13 original states.
Connecticut covers 12 973 km2 (5009 sq miles) and is an undulating, wooded area divided by the Connecticut River. Agriculture is based on dairy produce, fruit, vegetables and tobacco. Industries include aerospace technology, armaments and machinery. The state capital is HARTFORD. Many people in the southwestern part of the state commute into New York City.
