Kentucky is a South-central state covering 104 623 km2 (40 395 sq miles) of mostly rolling Blue Grass country, between the Cumberland Mountains in the south-east and the Ohio river to the north.

State capital of Kentucky, on the Kentucky River in the north of the state, about 60 km (37 miles) south of the Indiana border. Its main manufactures are clothing, shoes and whiskey.
