Wisconsin USA is a Midwestern state covering 145 439 km2 (56 154 sq miles) between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi river. Dairy farming is the main agricultural activity and the state also produces beef, maize, pigs and fruit.





Machinery, processed food and transport equipment are the principal manufactures, and tourism is expanding. MADISON is the capital and MILWAUKEE the largest city.





Madison USA State capital of Wisconsin, standing on the isthmus between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona, about 190 km (120 miles) northwest of Chicago. The city was founded in 1836 and is at the heart of a rich dairy farming area. It is also the seat of the University of Wisconsin, established in 1836.
