Here under Malaysia - PMT - Day 14, you will find travel information for that day, with practical information including the opening hours and addresses of the different attractions.
On the way to Besarah, nice picturesque village, stop at Kemasik palm-fringed beach, offering some of the clearest water on the east coast.
Both the beach and the little coastal town take their name from the Kemasik River that runs prominently through. The unique beach straddles the banks of the estuary, giving it a very individual character.
During low tide, one can walk across the sandy river bed to a small rocky outcrop near the estuary and observe the lifestyle of quaint fishing villages nestling precariously along the river coastline. The estuary, with a proliferation of fishing huts and boats,is a flurry of activities in the morning as fishermen bring in their catch for wholesale.
Well-known for its salted fish, Besarah is one of the few places in Malaysia where fishermen employ water buffaloes to transport their fish from the boats to the processing area. Aside from fishing, Besarah supports many cottage industries, including a batik factory and a handicraft workshop that produces items made from sea shells and coconuts.
"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page", St. Augustine said. Here at www.travel-university.org we believe that every page must be read and explored. Travel is an avenue of learning that no text or classroom can teach. The world is a living classroom and you the student. We invite you to the www.travel-university.org library where you can read general interest and detail oriented articles.
