A Voyage to the tropical seas of the whole world

A complete discovery of the Mediterranean

TROPICAL AREA (INDIAN OCEAN, PACIFIC OCEAN, RED SEA, CARIBBEAN SEA).

In a large 40,000 litre aquarium recreating part of alive coral ecosystem, the tropical area shows the hectic life of the reef and its inhabitants.

TEMPERATE AREA (MEDITERRANEAN SEA AND NEAR ATLANTIC OCEAN).

The live collection of the tanks reflects the wealth of Mediterranean.

TOTAL NUMBER OF FISHES: 6000

NUMBER OF SPECIES:

Tropical fishes: 250

Mediterranean fishes: 100

Freshwater fishes: 20

Tropical and Mediterranean invertebrates: several hundreds

Plants: several dozens

Number of tanks exhibited to the public: 90

Capacity of the largest tanks: 100 litres

Temperatures:

  • Tropical area: 25oC
  • Mediterranean area: 15 a 22oC according to the season

    Duration of daily light:

  • Tropical area: 14 hours
  • Mediterranean area: 12 hours

    Food in figures: small stomachs, but huge appetites!

    YEARLY QUANTITIES:

  • 1550 kg of fresh fish: sardines, mackerel, whiting
  • 1200 kg of mussels
  • 1050 kg of crustaceans: crabs, shrimps, artemias
  • 300 kg of seafood cocktails
  • 200 kg of cuttlefish and squid
  • 200kg of green vegetables: salad, spinach, green beans
  • 250 kg of various produce: krill, algae, mud worms...
