Day 3:

Burgos

El Cid StatueStart your visit by the Old Quarter. You can go to this quarter by 2 bridges. The historic Puente de San Pablo, beyond which looms a romanticized statue of El Cid with his swirling cloak and the Puente de Santa Maria which culminates in the magnificent Arco de Santa Maria, once part of the 14th-century walls.

Paseo de Espolon In the Old Quarter, discover the Paseo de Espolon, a lovely treelined pedestrian area, ideal for strolling or a picnic. Then, see another fine gate, the Arco de San Martin, surrounded by remnants of the original wall.

Burgos' Cathedral Next, visit the main monument of the town, the Cathedral. Indeed, it's one of Spain's greatest Gothic Cathedral and that's worth the trip in Burgos on its own.

Iglesia de San Esteban Continue your visit by the Iglesia de San Esteban, a powerful Gothic structure built in the 14th century. After, see The Monasterio de las Huelgas, second in importance among the city's sights. It was once among the most prominent monasteries in all of Spain. It's houses the Museo de Ricas Telas which contains bejewelled robes and garments once worn by the very royals interred in the aforementioned tombs.

Finish your Burgos Tour by having a look to the Cartuja de Miraflores which contains a trio of 15th-century masterworks by Gil de Siloé.
