Here under Spain - Madrid Northwestern Tour - Day 4, you will find travel information for that day, with all the practical information including the opening hours and addresses of the different attractions.
Leon's 13th-century Cathedral, with its soaring towers and flying buttresses, is the pinnacle of Castilian houses of worship, not to mention the city's spiritual heart. It's Spain's premier masterpiece of Gothic fancy.
Next sight is the Real Basilica de San Isidoro which is as seminal a work of Romanesque as the Cathedral is a gem of Gothic architecture. The attached Panteon Real houses the remaining sarcophagi, which rest with quiet dignity beneath a canopy of some of the finest Romanesque frescoes in all of Spain.
Discover, as well, the Convent of San Marcos which has more the appearance of a palace than the pilgrim's hospital it was at its founding. To finish, visit the Museo de Leon, houses in the Convent's cloister which exhibits archaeology.
