Here under Spain - Madrid Northwestern Tour - Day 5, you will find travel information for that day, with all the practical information including the opening hours and addresses of the different attractions.
Drive to Zamora and visit its largely Romanesque Cathedral, crowning medieval Zamora's highest point. It features a square tower, a landmark Byzantine-style dome surrounded by little turrets, and notable portals, especially the ornate southern Puerta del Obispo.
Next, discover Zamora's churches which are of Romanesque origin, but all have been subjected to other influences. Among those, have a particularly look to the Iglesia de San Pedro y San Ildefonso with its Gothic touches, the Iglesia de la Magdalena with its southern doorway, considered the city's finest. Other churches like the Iglesia de San Juan de Puerta Nueva o the Iglesia de Santa Maria la Nueva are very pretty.
Finish your Zamora's tour by visiting the Museo de Semana Santa, a great place to get an overview, particularly of the carved and painted pasos.
Then, take the Salamanca's way to discover one of the most beautiful city in Spain. Start your tour by discovering the gorgeous Plaza Mayor, exceptional grand square, widely considered Spain's most beautiful central plaza, particularly at night when illuminated to magic effect.
Then, go to the Catedral Nueva with its churriguesque dome visible from almost every angle. The Catedral Nueva was raised abutting its largely Romanesque predecessor, which is predictably known as the Catedral Vieja. It's something of a hybrid, incorporating some Gothic elements.
Keep going with the University and its famous façade, simply stunning. Finish your day trip by walking through the Patio de Las Escuelas Menores, a beautiful little square.
