Cologne is situated on the beautiful Rhine River.

Visit the beautiful Plasencia with its Cathedral which is actually 2 Cathedrals: the Romanesque Cathedral Vieja and the Catedral Nueva, a mainly Gothic building with a handsome Plateresque façade.
Then, among several monuments, see the Casa de las Dos Torres, the Iglesia de San Nicolas and the Iglesia de San Martin, all dating from the 13th or 14th century.
Then, visit the Monasterio de Yuste with its Gothic and Plateresque cloisters and the modest royal chambers, with the ailing monarch's bed placed to give him a direct view of the altar.
Next, discover the picturesque village of Garganta la Olla from where you can make the spectacular drive over the 1269m Puerto de Piornal pass to the Valle del Jerte.
