Here under Switzerland - St Moritz, you will find travel information about St Moritz, the luxury resort in the Swiss Alps.
St Moritz has several world famous luxury hotels and resorts: Suvretta House (picture below), Kempinski Grand Hotel, Carlton, Kulm (exceptional and peaceful), Badrutt's Palace. They are part of the local landscape in their own right.
To see and do in St Moritz:
Engadiner Museum - This building with its characteristic local architecture is an useful introduction to a walk through the villages of Engadine. Several typical village rooms have been admirably reconstructed here, such as the parade room n° IX, the most luxurious of all, that comes from the Visconti-Venosta house in Grosio.
Piz Nair - From the upper part of the cable car, after taking a funicular, the view covers all of Upper Engadin and its lakes. From the top, at 9,000 feet, there is a remarkable 360-degree view.
Zuoz Central Square - The Central Square, with a fountain topped with the heraldic bear of the Plantas, has the Planta House on the north side, which is made up of two different houses that share a roof. In the Engadine style, the square has a noble feel to it due to the unusual size and its Rococo staircase.
Davos Hohe Promenade - Davos is another fancy resort of the Swiss Alps, 45 miles away from St Moritz. This path, partly under the woods, is perfectly well maintained (clear of snow in winter). It can be reached from Davos-Dorf, by the road going up behind the Seehof hotel and from Davos-Platz, by the steep path along the road to the Catholic church.
Locals hypothesize that the legacy of Italian blood and culture in Cologne, colonized by the Romans more than 1500 years ago, makes the people more jovial and lighthearted. Cologne is the largest city on the Rhine.
Kolsch is not only the dialect spoken here but, also the name of their own top-fermented beer. There are more than 4,000 pubs, restaurant's and brewery taverns in Cologne.
Unlike many of the world's large cities, Cologne, with a population of over a million, gets better every day, there are more things to do and see, more new and innovative buildings... more
