Stonehenge
Stonehenge England

about 120 km (75 miles) west and slightly south of London. It was built between about 2750 and 1300 BC, possibly as a religious or ceremonial centre, and the remains are made up of some 150 boulders - the tallest 6.7 m (22 ft) high and weighing about 45 tonnes - in two main circles. There are traces of other earth and stone circles.

2. Main article

Although Stonehenge was reputedly used by Celtic Druids as a temple for sun worship, the Druids did not arrive in Britain until the 3rd century BC - at least 1000 years after Stonehenge was completed. Many of the stones were transported more than 320 km (200 miles) from quarries in Wales.
