Seas and oceans

Here under Seas and oceans, you will find travel information about the seas and oceans of the world, as well as general information.

Seventy-one percent of the Earth's surface is ocean and sea. This area can be explored on a luxury cruise, on a dive boat, on your own sailing boat, and another thousand ways.

There is, in fact, one ocean on our planet, with an area of 140 million square miles (comparatively, the USA occupy only a small area of 3.5 million square miles). This group of interconnected bodies of salt water comprises: the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Southern Ocean, and the Arctic Ocean.

2. Main article

Travel on the surface of the ocean dates back to prehistoric times. The oceans host the majority of vegetal and animal life on Earth; hence travel on oceans will logically include nature cruises and expeditions. However, some of the world's most pleasant climates are on or around some oceans, and travelers in search of pure relaxation will also want to travel to these places.

Oceans are also the home to an almost special breed of humans: cruisers, travelers who spend the majority of their lives on their own boats, usually sailing boats.
