Senior traveler

Age is just a number... what is really at stake is health; and then there are those who, at any age, aren't in the best of health, but throw caution to the wind and say:

I'm not going to live forever, so I'm going to see the world!

Senior citizens are entitled to many discounts all over the world on things like public transport, museum admission fees etc. provided they show proof of their age. In some cases they might need a special pass. The minimum qualifying age is generally 60 or 65 for men and slightly younger for women.

In your home country, a lower age may already entitle you to all shorts of interesting travel packages and discounts (on car hire, for instance)through organizations the cater for senior travelers. Start hunting at you local senior citizens advice bureau. For instance; European residents over 60 are eligible for the Rail plus Card.
